FriendshipWorks’ 8th Annual Walk to End Elder Isolation

A community fundraiser event on Sunday, May 19, 2024 around Boston’s beautiful Jamaica Pond!

Check-In and Breakfast 9:00am

at The Rogerson House, 434 Jamaicaway, Jamaica Plain (see Parking Info below)

Welcome Program 9:30am

Walk Start: 10:00am

New to our Walk this year is a special Elderbration component, to honor and celebrate older adults, and help them feel connected and treasured in their community. We’ll be celebrating with food, live music, cultural performances, and fun, and we don’t want you to miss out.

Why Walk with FriendshipWorks?

Your participation will help support FriendshipWorks’ critical mission of reducing social isolation and help strengthen and expand our collective force of 550 trained volunteers who provide highly personalized programming and friendship to older adults in Boston, Brookline, Newton, Cambridge, and Somerville. Funds raised through our Walk support our FIVE critical programs, which allow us to bring joy and companionship to isolated elders all over Greater Boston- FREE OF CHARGE!

You can participate in three ways:

  • Walk with Us! You can register as an individual walker, a walker with a dog, or a virtual walker when you sign up. You will then be prompted to create a team or join an existing one. From there, you can then set your own fundraising goal. The more you raise, the more prizes you’ll earn!
  • Donate to a Walk Team. If you can’t make it to the event in May, you can still help by donating to a team. Just scroll below and donate to a team or walker of your choice!
  • Get Your Company Involved. Create a Walk team and invite employees, families, and friends to make our Walk a true community event, and a team-building engagement tool for your workforce. Joining our Walk makes for a great corporate social responsibility investment.

PARKING:

There is NO PARKING at Rogerson House, only passenger drop-off is allowed.
