Esplanade Community Day
Community Day is an annual event that celebrates everyone in and around the Esplanade! Every year the park fills up with folks excited for a day of program-packed events including the Esplanade 5K, GroundBeat our 4 hour concert series produced by BAMS Fest, Children’s Activities, food trucks, a vendor fair, and more!

FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES

How could we forget about the little ones? We’ve dedicated a space just for them and you to enjoy the day. We’ll have
- Plenty of equipment and lawn games provided by EA and Knucklebones.
- Fun environmental and educational activities for all ages hosted by partners:
- Mass Audubon is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting the Nature of Massachusetts.
- Manomet is an environmental organization based in Plymouth, MA that uses science and collaboration to strengthen bird migration routes in the Western Hemisphere.
- Bootstraps Compost, a local composting company, will be leading educational activities around soil health and how to compost–with live worms! Visit their table and see what’s wriggling around.
- Face painting booth!
GROUNDBEAT MUSIC CONCERT SERIES PRODUCED BY BAMS FEST
11am-3pm
We partnered again with BAMS Fest for this year’s GroundBeat Concert to both produce and curate a variety of diverse, inclusive, and entertaining performances at the iconic Hatch Memorial Shell. BAMS Fest, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that breaks down racial and social barriers to arts, music and culture for communities and artists of color across Greater Boston. BAMS Fest has presented at GroundBeat on the Esplanade every summer since its launch in 2018 (virtually in 2020).
All of your donations support the Esplanade Association and provide us the opportunity to increase live arts and culture events at the Hatch Memorial Shell. Additional GroundBeat concerts will take place later this summer.

- Beat the heat with Beacon Hill Village’s FREE Ice Cream Truck
- Grab a bite from Work Hard Eat Good— a local Jamaican food truck

Get your bike tuned up for FREE at REI Co-op’s tent from 8am-10am. Just drop it off and let them take care of the rest. Please note that it’s first come first serve!
