A park for all ages, Castle Island has great views of Boston Harbor, and an old fort. This historical site includes Fort Independence – one of oldest fortified granite sites in North America. Sullivan’s Snack Shack is a staple for takeout beach food like hot dogs and lobster rolls, and with an abundance of picnic tables, enjoying views and great food is easy. The loop around the park is also great for rollerblading and running – it’s right by the water, so you can get a cool breeze while working out. Castle Island is also a good place for fishing in the city.
